The length of the hair growth period affects grading. Research has shown that long haired rabbits have the fastest hair growth within one month after shearing, followed by the second month, and the hair growth rate slows down in the third month. Changing the hair growth period from 91 days to 61 days can increase the total annual hair production by 20-25%. This is also the scientific basis for the Yimeng Giant Long haired Rabbit to adopt a 73 day shearing cycle.
